The hills, caves, or lakes from which the ancestors of the Aymara peoples (Bolivia and Peru) are said to have emerged. These places are regarded as sacred and are visited by the Aymara to gain new strength and energy.

Is also the name for the stone fetishes which protect the villages and the herds.
