by Micha F. Lindemans
A heavenly being in the Book of Daniel. A watcher gives a strange dream to King Nebuchadnezzar. Watchers also appear in later mystical works. In the Apocryphal book of Enoch, they are a race of giants, the children of angels who married human women. God appointed them as his guardians on the frontiers of his universe, one at every level.

Hebrew. Irin, "wakeful ones."
