Xroshtag and Padvaxtag are two Manichaean divinities who personify "call" and "answer." The call is uttered from above by the "living spirit" and it is "answered" from below by the man who is to be saved.

Manichaeism is an ancient dualist belief system. It is a religious doctrine based on the separation of matter and spirit and of good and evil that originated in 3rd-century Persia and combined elements of Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Gnosticism.
