1. Tiu
   A god of the wind, son of Tāwhiri-mā-tea with whom he ruled the northwest wind. They were the chief wind gods.

   The progenitor of the Tiu tribe on Hiva Oa. His mother Niniano gave birth to an egg, which hatched into Tiu, a fishlike being.
3. Tiu
   An ancient Samoan chief noted for his bravery. The god Tagaloa gave him some pigeons and he created a house for them.
