dagatnen

The generic term for the spirits of the seacoast. They are believed to have come from the island of Homonhon. Having been left by the ships they originally sailed, they now live on the ocean floor. According to some they are the spirits of the drowned who form a community underneath the ocean, while others say that they have come from the Kanla-on Volcano and who now live on Misamis Oriental.
