Taiyaban

Flying monsters. The Taiyaban are greatly feared for they prey on the souls of men, as well as on "soul-stuff." If they devour that of the arm, the arm will wither. They also steal the life force of rice and fruit trees. If properly invoked, they can help men against their enemies.

There are local individual ones as well as generalized ones. The Taiyaban inhabit rocks, gorges, trees, thickets, and lakes.
