Babes in the Wood

In a folktale from Norfolk, two small children were left in the care of an aunt and uncle after the death of their parents. The uncle resents their presence and hired two men to kill the them. The criminals found themselves unable to go through with the plan and abandoned the children in Wayland Wood. The children died of exposure and are ever since said to haunt the wood.
