Caunus

The son of Miletus and Cyanea, daughter of the river god Meander. According to one tradition, he loved his twin sister Byblis with more than brotherly love, and, as he could get over this feeling, left home and settled in Lycia. Another tradition is that Byblis fell in love with Caunus and declared her love in a letter. The idea of his sister's incestuous love horrified Caunus and he fled to the country of the Leleges.

Caunus is the reputed founder of the city of Caunus in Caria.
