Geodruisge
In Irish folklore, a giant from County Mayo. He lived in a palace called Dún Geodruisge (Dun Briste, "Broken Fort," on Downpatrick Head). A powerful witch cursed him for stealing her cattle and his palace broke off from the mainland, sending the giant out to sea. An alternative story tells that Geodruisge was an ogre who made life difficult for St. Patrick, who used to pray at the local church. He prayed to God to the get rid of the ogre, and the next day the ogre's residence was separated from the mainland. Unable to escape, the ogre vanished.
