Hnikarr

"Inciter." One of the many names used by Odin. In Reginsmál, Sigurðr and his men were driven past a certain promontory during a storm, and saw a man standing on a cliff. When they inquired who he was, the man answered:

They called me Hnikar,
when I Hugin gladdened,
young Völsung!
and battles fought.
Now thou mayest call me
the ancient of the rock,
Feng, or Fiölnir.

The name is also found in Grímnismál and Hrafnagaldr Óðins.
