Hnikarr
"Inciter." One of the many names used by Odin. In Reginsmál, Sigurðr and his men were driven past a certain promontory during a storm, and saw a man standing on a cliff. When they inquired who he was, the man answered:
- They called me Hnikar,
- when I Hugin gladdened,
- young Völsung!
- and battles fought.
- Now thou mayest call me
- the ancient of the rock,
- Feng, or Fiölnir.
The name is also found in Grímnismál and Hrafnagaldr Óðins.
