Lumawig

The greatest of all spirits. He created the Igorot and takes great interest in them. He taught them how to overcome the forces of nature, how to plant and reap — in fact, he taught them everything they know. At one time he lived in the Igorot village of Bontoc and married a Bontoc girl but he now lives in the sky.

Once each month a ceremony is held in his honor in a sacred grove, where the trees are believed to have sprung from the graves of his children.

There is a resemblance between Lumawig, also called Kambun'yan, and Kabonīyan of the Tinguians.
