Lyngheiðr

One of the two daughters of the shape-shifter Hreiðmarr, and the sister of Lofnheiðr. Hreiðmarr begs for their help as he is being murdered in his bed by his son Fáfnir, but Lyngheiðr replies:

"Few sisters will, although they lose a father, avenge a brother's crime."

Hreiðmarr then commands her to give birth to a daughter, if she not have son by a chief, and to find a spouse for that daughter, so that her son will avenge his death. She councils her brother Reginn how he might obtain his share of the patrimony.
