Parthenia

One of the mares of Marmax, the first suitor of Hippodamia. After he had lost the race to her father Oenomaus, Marmax was killed together with his horses Parthenia and Eripha. Oenomaus granted burial to them also. The river Parthenia is said to have received its name from this mare.
