Pero

The only daughter of Neleus and Chloris. She was wooed by Bias but Neleus would only give his daughter to the man who should bring him the kine of Phylacus as a gift for the maiden. These cows were guarded by a dog whom neither man nor beast could approach. Bias' brother Melampus obtained them by his courage and skill, and so won the Pero for his brother. Their children are Talaus, Areius, and Leodocus.
