Smerdius

The son of Leucippus. He was the king of Naxos and it was during his reign that Theseus, on his voyage back from Crete together with Ariadne, was entertained as a guest by the inhabitants of the island. Theseus, seeing in a dream Dionysus threatening him if he would not forsake Ariadne in favor of the god, left her behind there.
