Thalestris

A queen of the Amazons, who ruled all the country between the rivers Phasis and Thermodon. She was remarkable for beauty and for bodily strength, and was admired by her countrywomen for bravery. She took three hundred of her Amazons and set out to meet Alexander the Great, in order to become mother by the conqueror of Asia.
