Þrívaldi

"Thrice-mighty." A jötunn killed by Thor. He is mentioned in a verse by the tenth-century Icelandic skald Vetrliði Sumarliðason, and quoted by Snorri Sturluson in Skáldskaparmál, who says that Thor didst bruise Thrívaldi. The poet Bragi Boddason specifies that Þrívaldi had nine heads. A kenning for Thor is Smiter of Thrívaldi.

Þrívaldi is found among the list of giants in the Nafnaþulur.
