Aeolides
A patronymic given to the sons of Aeolus, such as Athamas,1 Magnes,2 Macareus,3 Misenus,4 Sisyphus,5 Cretheus,6 locastus;7 and to his grandsons, as Cephalus,8 Odysseus,9 and Phryxus.10
Acolis is the patronymic of the female descendants of Aeolus, and is given to his daughters Canace and Alcyone.11
