Ahl at-trab

The supernatural inhabitants of the world which lies just below the Sahara desert. In Tuareg folk belief, these beings are capable of doing great harm. They are reputed to trip camels and to drink the springs dry just before travelers arrive. They can be seen in the shape of whirling pillars of sand during sandstorms.
