Bil and Hjúki

The daughter and son of Viðfinnr. They were taken from earth by Máni, the Moon, when they went from the well called Byrgir, bearing on their shoulders the cask called Sægr, and the pole Simul. They follow Moon as his companions. Bil and Hjúki are solely attested in the Prose Edda.

Bil may be the same figure mentioned later in Gylfaginning as one of the Ásynjur (see Bil).
