Brunhilde

A young and stalwart queen in the Nibelungenlied, an epic poem in Middle High German. Siegfried, who made himself invisible with the Tarnkappe, wins and tames her for Gunther. When Brunhilde learns of this deception from Kriemhild, Siegfried's wife, she induces Hagen to murder Siegfried by stabbing him in only place where he was vulnerable, in the back between the shoulders.
