Clotho

"Spinner." One of the three Moirae. Clotho presided over birth and drew from her distaff the thread of life.

From Greek Klōthō, "I spin."

Iconography

In works of art Clotho was represented as a grave maiden with a spindle or a roll (the book of fate).
