Glaistig of Lianachan

A man named Kennedy or MacCuaric, residing at Lianachan in Lochaber, returned home one evening and met a glaistig on the bank of a stream. He locked his arms around her, took her with him to his house, and would not let her go until she built for him a large barn of six couples (sia suidheachan), which she did in a single night. As her parting gift she left a blessing and a curse to the MacCuarics, that they should grow like rushes but wither like ferns.
