Gog and Magog

In the Bible, the names given to the enemies of God's people. In the Old Testament,1 Gog is mentioned as the ruler of the land of Magog, upon which will be send a fire and whose multitudes will be buried in Hamon-Gog, the "Valley of the multitudes of Gog," in Israel.

In the New Testament,2 Gog and Magog are two nations that were under Satan's Rule:

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison
8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.

Gog and Magog are called Yajuj and Majuj in the Islamic tradition.
