járnviðja

A giantess or troll-wife listed among the trollkvinna in the Nafnaþulur section attached to the Prose Edda. According to Snorri Sturluson, the járnviðjur live in the mythical wood Járnviðr.

In Eyvindr skáldaspillir's poem Háleygjatal, Skaði is referred to as a járnviðja.
