Kaiamunu
A demon in the folk belief of the people in the Purari Delta. He plays a big part in the initiation ceremonies for boys, whom he is supposed to swallow and then regurgitate to life. He is represented as a kind of wickerwork image.

The long-houses belonging to the men of the tribe seem to reflect the shape of Kaiamunu's image.
