Konaki-jijī

In Japanese folklore, a terrible monster that appears to travelers as a crying baby lying helplessly along the road. If the traveler stops to pick up the baby, Konaki-jijī immediately returns to its original monstrous size, crushing the person. His name can be translated as "grandfather crying like a baby."
