Maera

"Sparkling." The daughter of Proetus, and a companion of the goddess Artemis. She was killed by Artemis after she had became by Zeus the mother of Locrus; others say that she died as virgin. Her shade appeared to Odysseus.

Iconography

Maera was represented by Polygnotus in the Lesche at Delphi.1
