The forest man, an ape-like creature that is the Indian version of the legendary yeti. It is said to live in the area around the Garo hills of the north-eastern state of Meghalaya. The mande barung is about ten feet tall and is covered with thick black or gray hair, and weighs about 660 pounds (300kg).
