Men Brayut

"Mother of Many." Men Brayut is a character of a Balinese folktale celebrating motherhood. She has eighteen children and despite the hardships this caused, she and her husband Pen Brayut did an excellent job of raising them. The children grew up into remarkable beings, known for their spiritual wisdom.

The moral of the story is that proper child-rearing is the foundation of true spiritual life.
