Mieg Moulach

A household spirit of the brownie type. She was attached to the Grant family of Tullochgorum (Strathspey, Scotland). Mieg Moulach performed the usual brownie labors but also assisted the clan chief in defeating his opponents at chess. In addition, she functioned as a banshee, announcing the death of a family member. She is also known as the Girl with the Hairy Left Hand.

There may be a connection to Maug Vuluchd, a brownie of a farmhouse at Achnarrow in Glenlivit.
