Minyades

A patronymic given to the children of Minyas, namely Alcathoe, Arsippe, and Leucippe. These three princesses of Orchomenus in Boeotia refused to join in the celebrations of Dionysus. Furthermore, the called him a false god. In anger, Dionysus struck them with madness. They wandered through the country until Hermes transformed them into bats.
