Niðavöllum

"Dark fields." The location of the golden hall for Sindri's kin, according to Völuspá:

Stóð fyr norðan á Niðavöllum salr ór gulli Sindra ættar;

Stood before the north on Nidavollum a hall of gold, for Sindri's kin;

Snorri Sturluson adds that the hall was made of red gold and makes Sindri the hall's name. Cp. Niðafjöll.
