palad khik

In Thailand, small wooden phalluses that are traditionally worn by boys around their waist to protect them from disease or danger. The larger versions promote good business. The palad khik are pre-Buddhist and indigenous in origin and usually have old Khmer writing and magic symbols. They are often created and empowered by Buddhist monks.
