paltinta

Local totem centers where the ancestor of a totemic group left spirit children behind. This term is the equivalent of oknanikilla by the Arrernte and mungai of the Warramunga. The spot at which the great ancestor finally went down into the earth is called bara-kopugua. See also meltjinta.
