"Delightful." According to Vafþrúðnismál, the father of Sumarr, summer personified. Snorri Sturluson adds that
he is of pleasant nature, so that from his name whatsoever is pleasant is called 'sweet.' A kenning for summer is Son of Svásuðr.
In the Nafnaþulur section of Skáldskaparmál, Svásuðr appears in the list of jötnar.
