Þviti

"Hitter", "Batterer." After the Æsir had bound the wolf Fenrir to the stone slab Gjöll with the chain Gelgja, they fixed the stone deep down into the earth. They then drove the slab deeper into the earth with the great rock Þviti, and used it for a fastening-pin. There the wolf lies until he is freed from his bonds at Ragnarök.
