Veritas

The personification of truth, mentioned as a daughter of Saturn1 and the mother of Virtue. According to others, she is a daughter Jupiter2 or of Time.3 She is the Roman equivalent of the Greek Aletheia.

Democritus used to say that Veritas hid herself at the bottom of a well, indicating the difficulty with which she is found.
