Aituā
Death, or a personified form of misfortune. In one version of Māori cosmogenic mythology, he is the firstborn son of Rangi and Papa.
The word aituā means evil omen, bad luck, unlucky, a misfortune: He aitua to taua; i hiki taku karakia.
