Angrboða
"Harm-bidder." The mother of the wolf Fenrir by Loki, according to Völuspá hin skamma. Snorri Sturluson says that Angrboða was a giantess in Jötunheimr and makes her the mother of three of Loki's offspring: Fenrir, Jörmungandr, and Hel, the ruler of the underworld.
Her name does not seem to appear prior the twelfth century.
