Beli

"Roarer." A jötunn who was slain by Freyr. In Gylfaginning it is said that a weaponless Freyr fought with Beli — since he had given his sword to Skírnir — and therefore slew the giant with the horn of a hart, although he could have killed him with his hand.

Snorri Sturluson says that Freyr can be periphrased as Belja dólgr ("Beli's enemy") and bani Belja ("Beli's slayer").
