Colchian dragon

The dragon that guarded the sacred grove of Ares in Colchis and its famous treasure: the Golden Fleece. It is a child of (the blood of) Typhon and Gaea. The ever-wakeful serpent was put to sleep by Medea who sprinkled a powerful drug in its eyes whereupon Jason was able to obtain the fleece.
