"Black." The eldest son of Ham the son of Noah. He is the father of Nimrod, Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtecah. He is the eponymous ancestor of the Cushites, the people of Cush, a country in the region surrounding the river Gihon.
