Doeg

"Fearful." An Edomite, the chief overseer of Saul's flocks. He told Saul that he had witnessed David coming to Ahimelech, the high priest at Nob. Saul summoned Ahimelech and all the priests to him and ordered them killed. His servants refused to raise their hands against the priests, and the king turned to Doeg, who slew on that day eighty-five persons that wore a linen ephod.
