Hamskerpir

The horse that sired Hófvarpnir, the horse of goddess Gná, on the mare Garðrofa, according to Gylfaginning. When certain of the Vanir saw her riding through the air, one of them wanted to know what flew there, and Gná answered:

"I fly not though I go,

And glide through the air

On Hofvarpnir,

Whose sire's Hamskerpir,

And dam Gardrofa."
