Among the Mantra of Peninsular Malaysia, a water demon who causes death by sucking blood from the thumb and big toes of human beings. From the time when it first leaves its watery abode, it wanders about incessantly in search of food until it is at length satiated and returns home.

The demon has the head of a dog and the mouth of a crocodile.
