Hildólfr

"Battle-wolf." A son of Odin, according to the Nafnaþulur section of Skáldskaparmál.

In the eddic poem Hárbarðsljóð, the rude and obnoxious ferryman Hárbarðr (Odin) says to Thor that he was given his vessel by a certain Hildólfr:

Hildolf he is named
who bade me hold it,
a man in council wise,
who dwells in Radsö sound.
Robbers he bade me not to ferry,
or horse-stealers,
but good men only,
and those whom I well knew.
