Iocaste

The queen of Thebes, daughter of Menoeceus and wife of King Laius. She is the mother of Oedipus, and upon learning of her relation to him, hanged herself. Her death, too, was a result of the curse that plagued the family of the Labdacidae.

She is also known as Epicaste,1 and Sinenea.2
