Mekhala

The Thai spirit or goddess of lightning. She was born in the frothing white foam of the sea. Mekhala possesses a crystal ball which shoots out flashes of blinding light, which she uses to protect herself from her pursuer, the thunder spirit Ramasun.

In 2002, a tropical storm was named after her.
