Menggin
A figure from Iban mythology. One day, while hunting in the jungle, he shot a bird. When he went to retrieve his catch, it changed into a woman's shirt, which he took home with him. A few days later a woman appeared at his house to claim her property. She turned out to be Dara Tinchin Temaga, the eldest daughter of Singalang Burong. She became Menggin's wife and bore him a son, Surong Gunting.
Eventually, Dara Tinchin Temaga returned to her celestial home, followed by her husband and her son who donned jackets with bird designs woven by her for this purpose.
